Like most people, we use Cascade dishwashing detergent, it's reasonably priced and works well. I don't think switching to a different brand is a good option because I'm pretty sure other brands use the same chemical as well or maybe even worse. I'm glad there's investigative journalists like ProPublica that uncover stories like this. Rather than have to be discovered by investigative journalists, companies such as BASF should take a proactive approach to reduce harmful emissions ahead of profits to help protect the communities where they operate. Additionally environmental regulations and funding of the EPA need to be strengthened rather than weakened by politicians who would rather take money from corporations and lobbyists who put profits ahead of health and safety. If you have a good product, you don't need to poison the people around you to save a few pennies in order to be successful. Unfortunately there's far too many companies like BASF, Medline, Dow, and hundreds of others you may not even know about that put profits first to make the products you use everyday.
